Overview
Automotive Alcohol Module is a module designed to detect the alcohol content in the driver’s exhaled gas. By accurately measuring the alcohol content, the module can effectively prevent drunk driving behaviors, thus safeguarding road traffic safety and the safety of people’s lives and properties. The module adopts an electrochemical fuel cell type alcohol sensor, together with an on-board temperature sensor to realize temperature compensation and ensure the accuracy and reliability of the measurement results. In addition, the module also integrates a pressure sensor, which can realize the blowing action detection to further ensure the authenticity of the measurement, and the measurement data can be transmitted through the serial signal, which is convenient to integrate with the electronic control system of the vehicle.
The automotive alcohol module works based on the electrochemical sensor principle. When the built-in pressure sensor detects the exhaled gas flowing through the pipe at a specific flow rate, the solenoid valve responds quickly and inhales a quantitative sample of the gas, and the sensor activates detection simultaneously. Alcohol and oxygen in the gas undergo a redox reaction within the sensor, releasing an electrical charge to form a current signal. The module detects the current intensity through the circuit, and determines the alcohol concentration after processing by the algorithm, realizing the accurate detection of breath alcohol content.
